The four page summary of the Special Counsel report by U.S. Attorney General William Barr is submitted to congress, with the biggest takeaway being there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The document released earlier on Sunday detailed the scope of the investigation, which included the extent of Russia’s influence in the 2016 Presidential election, as-well-as allegations of obstruction of justice. Specifically, it says the probe did not find the Trump campaign, or anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with Russia to influence the election.
In terms of obstruction of justice, Special Counsel Robert Mueller states that while it is not conclusive President Trump committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.
This means it will ultimately be up to congress, with the House and Senate now having a copy of that summary, to determine a path forward in regards to any possible charges against the President.
