Kentucky Senate candidate Amy McGrath is accusing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of not caring for his state’s coal miners. In a newly released ad, McGrath follows a group of coal miners who traveled from Kentucky to Capitol Hill to ask McConnell to restore their disability benefits.
The miners all suffer from or know someone affected by black lung disease. They say McConnell only met with them for a short time when they made it to Washington, D.C.
Our coal miners risked their lives to fuel our country—but Mitch McConnell would only give a group of them with black lung disease a scant minute when they rode 10 hours to visit him in Washington. My question for McConnell: Which side are you on? pic.twitter.com/6dzOZHTKOV

McGrath has an unsuccessful political record in Kentucky. She ran for Congress in the 2018 midterms, but lost to congressman Andy Barr.
