Former Senator Jeff Flake is opening up about threats made against him and his family, which prompted his leave of office.
In an interview this week, Flake revealed authorities in Washington, D.C. are investigating multiple threats directed at the former senator and his family. The U.S. Capitol Police are leading the investigation and have not yet commented on the case.
This comes after Flake became widely known as a vocal critic of the Trump administration. Some threats have directly stemmed from Flake’s call for an FBI investigation during the controversial Brett Kavanaugh hearings.
Last week, a man in Chicago pleaded guilty for sending a menacing voice mail to Flake, which threatened to “take him and his family out” after one of the Kavanaugh hearings.
In another alleged incident, Flake said a man carrying a rifle scope went to three churches looking for him in his home state.
