Michael Cohen heads to prison

Disgraced attorney Michael Cohen has reported to prison to begin his sentence for financial crimes.

Cohen will spend the next three-years at the Federal Correction Institution in Otisville, New York, which is a minimum security prison east of Manhattan. Otisville is known for housing white collar criminals, and was named one of “America’s cushiest prisons” according to Forbes Magazine.

Cohen made comments to reporters to before being taken to serve his sentence, and said his story is not over yet.

“I hope that when I rejoin my family and friends that the country will be in a place without xenophobia, injustice, and lies at the helm of our country,” he stated. “There still remains much to be told, and I look forward to the day that I can share the truth.

Cohen pleaded guilty to tax and bank fraud as well as campaign finance violations. His case was referred to the Southern District of New York after being referred to prosecutors by special counsel Robert Mueller.
