A search is underway for a New York couple, who disappeared while vacationing in the Caribbean.

According to reports, 43-year-old Orlando Moore and his 32-year-old girlfriend Portia Ravenelle were due back from the Dominican Republic on March 27th, but did not return home.

Investigators said the couple checked out of their hotel room that same day, but there has been no sign of them or their rental car. Authorities claim both of their phones are shut-off, and that their car back in the U.S. is still parked at Newark Airport.

Moore’s sister has since reached out to the U.S. Embassy for assistance.

“I’m scared, I don’t know what’s going on…I’m saddened, my family is saddened by this, we just want my brother to return safe and alive.”

Meanwhile, the family is waiting on an update from investigators before flying down to the Dominican Republic.
