The two will meet Friday at the White House joined by other congressional leaders, after House Democrats passed a provisional spending package which did not include funding for the border wall.

The president has vowed not to sign any legislation which does not include the more than $5 billion he has demanded for the project.

She also recently revealed she will step down as speaker after four more years in the position.
