President Trump, French President Macron wrap up G7 summit with conference

President Trump held a joint press conference with his French counter part Emmanuel Macron to mark the end of the G7 summit in France.

While speaking to reporters Monday morning, the two leaders addressed several major talking points from the summit. This included the nation’s economy, North Korea, Iran, and the trade war with China.

The president and Macron also touted the success of the summit by saying many productive meetings took place.

“This was a truly successful G7. There was tremendous unity, there was great unity….nobody wanted to leave, we were accomplishing a lot, but I think, more importantly, we were getting along very well… seven countries and it really was the G7, and you have been a spectacular leader on this.”

On Sunday, President Trump met with U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson to discuss a possible post-Brexit trade deal, which could be signed within the year. He also reached a trade agreement with Japan, which will be signed in New York next month.
