President Trump recently praised the Coast Guard for its work in Texas, following Tropical Storm Imelda. While speaking from Houston Sunday, he said he “gives the Coast Guard an A+” for their efforts.
The president went on to point out the importance of the Coast Guard, and said “the job they’ve done is incredible.” He commended the branch for saving 131 lives from the storm, which he said was “a really bad one.”

“I don’t think there’s any brand — no matter where you go — that’s gone up more than the Coast Guard, and that started with Harvey as far as I’m concerned — the big hurricane from a year ago in Texas,” said President Trump. “I give the coast Guard an A+.”
Moving forward, the president said he has invested in the Coast Guard to completely rebuilt much of its equipment, including brand new ships, boats and helicopters.
